Session 40: "A simple supply drop and pick up.........." or "Picking up more than you bargained for!"

 28th Day of Lowsun, Swordsday

Group gathered at Barthens provisions to take a cart of supplies to the Loggers Camp run by Tarbin Westors brother.

1st Day of Redfall, Moonday

Arrive at the logger Camp late in the evening. Searching the deserted camp the group were attacked by Ankhegs. After a prolonged battle the Ankhegs were killed. A short while later a 2nd wagon led by Heimund, Uthal and Brutus arrived. Shortly after another group of Ankhegs broke the surface and attacked the group. Again another hard battle saw the Ankhegs killed. The group moved out of camp a few miles to recover.

2nd Day of Redfall, Towerday

The group returned to the Loggers Camp and searched the area. They found Wester hiding in a locked store cupboard. At first confused he told them of the initial attack. The group searched the main point of the initial attack and found a totem. Adran told the group that it was this totem that had drawn the Ankhegs here, it was cursed with bad luck and inscribed with the Symbol of Talos, the Thundergod. (A lightning Bolt). When burned the totem emitted small, 6 inch long, lightning bolts. Fargrim suggested the ashes were thrown into the river, he offered prayers over the ceremony of throwing the ashes into the water.

They spent the rest of the morning loading up the wagons with as much cut wood as they could and departed for Phandalin.

4th Day of Redfall, Thunderday

That evening Xanth the Centaur entered their camp and asked why they had failed to meet him at Falcons Hunting Lodge. The group explained what had transpired and promised to meet him their after their return to Phandalin. When asked about the totem and Talos, Xanth told them that the Orcs in the eastern wood followed Talos and it was this group that were getting bolder in their incursions into Neverwinter Woods. Again the group promised to meet him there.

5th Day of Redfall, Fireday

The group arrived safely back in Phandalin and were paid the money owed for delivering the supplies and collecting the wood. They went shopping.
