 29th day of Frostmoot: Morning
As the group entered the stables Paskan introduced the group to Grymm, his Dire Wolf mount!

As the group prepared to leave and where in the stables the air shimmered and popped. Standing before the group were Heimund, Paladin of the Order of the Gauntlet and Droop. Heimund was a Goliath and Droop a Goblin dedicated to Heimund.

Bandur welcomed his friends, it had been a long while since he had adventured with Heimund and Droop.

Bandur: "Good to see you again Heimund, keep your purses close, eh Droop?"

Droop just smiled.

Garet had met Heimund a while back in Axeholm and was glad to get re-acquainted.  Luckily Heimund and Droop had brought mounts with them.

They bade farewell to Fabien and Zindra.

The first days journey by road to Womford was uneventful, however they did begin to notice the change in the weather. The snow was receding. Paskan and Grymm ranged ahead, scouting the land.

30th day of Frostmoot: Morning                                                                                                           As they progressed on the 2nd day it wasn't long before they came across an old man, exotically dressed hands on hips standing next to a laden cart, berating a 2nd standing at the side of the road with a basket on his head playing a flute! The language was foreign to them all.

Aerie inquired as to who they were, where they were going and why their cart had no horse to pull it.

Bandur gave a shout as Garet scouted off the side of the road.

His mount charged through the tall undergrowth and when it cam to a pile of large rocks dug its fore legs in and Bandur sailed through the air, not majestically and landed face first in the dirt.

That seemed to break the atmosphere and everyone broke into loud guffaws and belly laughs. None more so than the 2 strangers. Heimund helped Bandur to his feet as Aerie cleaned some of the dirt off his face.

Stranger: "In answer to your questions ( in a heavily accented voice) my name is Az Haq, travelling wise man to the court of Kuo Te’ Lung, a member of the Temple of the Four winds.

Aerie: "I've heard of the temple it is far to the east of here, why are you so far from home?"

Az Haq: "I gather knowledge and wisdom for my master from across the known world and beyond young Aerie Silverwind, Avarial Elf".

Aerie tried to bluster a denial to the information freely given but Az Haq stood his ground.

Aerie: "Where is your horse, or whatever was pulling your cart?"

Paskan: "I think it ran away, tracks head off to the east".

Az Haq: "Paskan is quite correct, we hit a stone, my urm....companion played a shrill note and the horse bolted and the wheel came off".

Aerie: "Where are you headed?"

Az Haq: "Red Larch, then Neverwinter, or perhaps Waterdeep."

Aerie: "It looks like your horse is gone, I will give you mine to aid you as we are not far short of our destination".

Az Haq: "Then for that I will offer you this I will answer one question with the wisdom of the ages and many from Ba Tuo was the founder of the temple , he was the first abbot of the temple and translator of the ancient writings. He was the one who created the rituals and ordained the first monks Hui Guang , Seng Chou and others. This is a historical event as it is written in the oldest book."

Aerie thought long and hard.

Aerie: "How long has Tiamat been intending to return to the Prime Material Plane and when will she arrive?

Az Haq: "Well that was 2 questions but I shall humour you, Tiamat has been planning for thousands of years to return to the prime material plane, however to do so many things must be in place and many sacred objects gathered. I will tell you that two of these objects have been  found."

The two groups went there separate ways after the muscle of the group lifted the heavily laden cart to allow the wheel to be put back on. Anor furnished a pin to ensure the wheel wouldn't come off again until a blacksmith could look at it and mend it correctly.

It was just before dusk when the group crossed over Bandurs magnificent bridge.

Bandur: "I built this, you know". (He said to Heimund as they crossed over into Womford).

They could see a barge making ready to sail upriver. They managed to hail the skipper and recognising them he offered free passage to Riverguard.

When they arrived in Riverguard many questions were answered by Chalaska Muruin, now in charge of Riverguard. The settlement had changed considerably as a small village of houses could be seen built outside the walls. Their horses were still here and stabled in the refurbished stable block.

Chalaska informed them it would be about 4 days before a barge returned to take them to Yartar.

1.      She has something to show them but it would have to wait until morning. Aerie asked the group if it was alright to use the central pendent. She would travel home and inform her parents of what had happened to her sister and ask what news of the other Avarial scouts sent out with her sister. As there were no healing potions in Red Larch the group gave Aerie much gold and asked her to bring back healing potions, if she could.

1st- 4th day Deepsnow: Morning                                                                                                               Garet and a few others were led out by Chalaska, not far, only as far as the gorge to the Earth Cult Temple. The gorge had collapsed under tons of rock and boulders, the narrow gorge was impassable. Chalaska told them 4 days ago there was a rumble, earthquake probably and the gorge collapsed.

The group spent their time conducting training and enhancing skills. Paskan was downhearted as his hunting forays and been unsuccessful.

4th day of Deepsnow: Evening                                                                                                           Aerie returned laden with healing potions and a newly altered suit of Mithril Mail & 7 days worth of Elven Whey bread.

5th - 8th day of Deepsnow:                                                                                                                                A barge had arrived late the night before and was ready to depart for Yartar, luckily it was empty for it was bound to pick up a cargo in Yartar bound for Waterdeep. Before they left Chalaska handed over a pouch to Garet.

Chalaska: "There's 50 gold pieces in there and more to come so the skipper of your barge tells me. We'll keep the profits for you.

Garet thanked her on behalf of the group and the barge caste off.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     4 days later the barge docked in Yartar.

They settled for the inn they had last stayed at on the recommendation of Bandur, One Foot in the Boat, run by a Tiefling called  Yalipsis Endearing . It was located just south of Yartar's marketplace, known locally as the Fishyard. The tavern was noisy and outright exciting place to spend an evening, so Paskan thought.

9th -11th day of Deepsnow:                                                                                                                                      Bandur sought out the weaponsmith Ghelryn Foehammer, and asked for this battle axe to be fixed. It would take 2 days and 1500 gold. For his precious it was a cheap price to pay.

12th - 13th day of Deepsnow: The group left by horse following the road to Triboar. Heimund would make enquiries and ensured them they would find lodging at the Order of the Gauntlet Temple in Triboar.

On arrival, after an uneventful journey, Heimund was true to his promise and secured for them an overnight stay at the Temple of the Gauntlet. There they were informed there was no new news about the missing daughter of Arvin Glitterdale, nor why she was travelling to Westbridge. However a broken sword hilt had been found at the crossing midway in the Black Maw Bog, identified as belonging to the mercenary company in Triboar who provided the escort.

They decided to pay a visit to Councillor Arvin Glitterdale, they needed further information including a description. Her father described her as of medium height and build, slim, blonde hair, blue eyes and very beautiful, almost like her mother, of which a portrait hung in the main room of his house.

14th day of Deepsnow:                                                                                                                              It was 40 miles walk from Triboar to Black Maw a good 2 days walk.

The first day and night was uneventful.

15th day of Deepsnow                                                                                                                              As dusk was approaching and they were nearing the crossing where the attack took place a man was seen leading 2 heavily laden mules towards them.

2.     Paskan, with Grymm by his side, saw the man first and challenged him. The man looked frightened,

      Aerie moved up.

Aeire: "Hello, need some help, looking for a missing daughter of Arvin Glitterdale from Triboar?"

      Stranger: "No nothing, nowt."

The stranger immediately led his mules into the swamp, twisting this way and that in the tall grass.

Garet  shadow stepped to a tree he could see. The ground moved, it was a grassy mound in the swamp and it seemed to be floating. He tried to observe the man and his mules but he seemed to know the way, twisting this way and that.

Paskan moved ahead and stepped off the road, his leg sank up to the knee, and he couldn't see any tracks.
