15th day of Deepsnow 1492
Mission: To find the missing daughter of Arven Glitterdale
Campaign:
Location(s): Black Maw Bog.
Present: Aerie, Anor, Bandur, Garet, Heimund & Droop, Karion, L'Aalratic Paskan

Aerie took to the air. She thought she could dimension door in front of the man and the two mules, but his path was to erratic. So she glided, hovered and watched. She noted he was using stone boulders as markers, alternating between left and right. Aerie watched him as he neared a dwelling. This must be it.
Within a short time she arrived back at the group. It took even longer for her to get them to a hillock near the dwelling where they could observe.
Aerie again took the lead as they approached the dwelling. As they grew closer the door opened and a female with blonde hair, of medium build stepped out of the house. She put her fingers to her lips and with the other beckoned them closer.
Selene: "My name is Selene, and my husband William is warry of strangers. But I will call him".
Selene spoke and William came out of the house.
William: "What right have you got to follow me here? And with a lizardman and his dire wolf pet!"
Paskan made to move forward, hand on the hilt of his sword, he meant to answer the insult.
Paskan: "You pointed a crossbow at me and I'm Dragonborn, not lizard born, say that again and I'll have Grymm rip your throat out!"
Aerie: "Steady, back off Paskan, William was obviously put on the defensive when you approached".
Selene: "they are friends William not our foes".
William looked down at Selene with obvious affection and went back into the house.
Selene: "You may stay the night, use the cold store but not the wolf, he'll eat out meat."
Garet: "We thank you for your hospitality."
Selene entered the house and Garet closed with the door to listen. He heard no harsh words only the sounds of a meal being made.
They settled into the cold store. Paskan and Grymm took the 1st watch with Anor.
16th day of Deepsnow 1492
Anor woke Aerie and Garet for the 2nd watch. No sooner had they fallen asleep Aerie was startled when she heard a loud whoosh and then the end of the house caught fire. Aerie screamed out fire and entered the house, Paskan was immediately awake and rushed into the house, ignoring the fire and roughly threw Aerie out of the doorway, Aerie maintained her balance but ended up half way down the stairs to the cold store.
Grymm, startled by the 2 mules running passed him took a bite at one and sank his teeth into flesh. (fresh meat!).
Bandur and Anor made it upstairs with Aerie. Paskan, now upstairs in the smoke and fire filled house was looking for William and Selene. He found the ladder leading upstairs, he went up, bringing his rope out and tying it round him, threw it out of the window.
Paskan: "Hey you two if you want out climb down this rope".
In the smoke filled upper part of the house he saw nothing but felt a tug or two on the rope. He went to the window, William asked him why they needed a rope they were already out!
Arrows started thudding into woodwork, 1 hit Grymm in the rear leg. Garet and Bandur charged towards the archers hiding in the trees. Paskan joined Aerie, William and Selene and Anor. Anor was thrown forward and dropped his sword, a ballista bolt had hit him in the back! Picking his sword up Anor rushed off to help Garet and Bandur.
Paskan grabbed the lizardmans foot, Grymm grabbed its arm, Karion waded in as Paskan fell to the ground badly wounded. A combination of dire wolf, Karion healing Paskan so Paskan and Karion could finish off the lizardman.
Garet carried a dead lizardman back to the house. Karion, now awake tried to coax the 2nd mule out of the swamp where it was obviously stuck fast.
Aerie flew up and cast water spells onto the roof putting the blaze out. Once she landed she was hit by a ballista bolt. Garet killed 2 lizardmen, as Aerie spotted more off to the left. She cast a lightning cloud spell and struck 3 of the lizardmen. Then with a blink they had all jumped into the water and disappeared. Aerie spotted the ballista and tried to launch another spell at them trying to destroy the ballista but Paskan, who could not see very well in the dark, had lit a torch and blinded Aerie's view of the target. A brief struggle ensued over the torch. Garet, dropping the lizardman, shouted at Paskan to drop the torch as he used his ki powers to give Paskan darkvision.
Bandur supported Anor as they defended the wood line where the lizardmen had attacked from.
Suddenly all hell broke loose, lizardmen were scrambling over the roof of the cold house and were attacking Bandur and Anor from behind.
Garet charged back to help Anor and Bandur, Paskan threw the torch away and Aerie polymorphed into a Young Brass Dragon. Using the breath weapon she caused most of the lizardmen on the roof to fall asleep. The last one attacked Paskan causing great damage.
Anor, Bandur and Garet finished off the group in the trees as Aerie, in dragon form still, took to the air.
Aerie landed and attacked the 2 lizardmen and the ballista. As she got used to the new body she masterly struck with her tail swipe, beheading both lizardmen and smashing the ballista. Aerie did notice on one of the wooden pieces:

They kept a larger lizardman and 2 smaller ones as prisoners, the remaining sleeping ones had their throats slit.
The group wanted answers.
1. Who were William and Selene really?
Selene: "I am Selene Glitterdale, daughter of Arvin Glitterdale. William is my husband.
2. What were they really doing out here?
William: "We had to hide from Selenes father, he was sending her to Westbridge to marry a noble's son. We were secretly married 2 months ago. We tried to run away but her father caught Selene. He didn't know we were married.
3. Why had the lizardmen attacked?
Selene: "They attacked me and my escort 14 days ago. William rescued me and brought me here to the bog wardens hut".
4. Was this a regular occurrence?
William: "The lizardmen don't normally attack humans on the road or on this side of the bog.Interrogation: Asked by Garet but answers translated by Paskan (who speaks this language fluently)
Lizardman 1: Refused to answer, throat slit.
Lizardman 2: "Yuz fink that scarez uz human filth. And this zcumbag abortion excuze of a dragonzpawnz......jez wait until.........well jezwait yuz'l zee,"
Lizardman 3: "We'ze iz comin for yuz lot.....an zoon zee!"
Nothing more was forthcoming from the remaining 2 so Garet killed them.
William: "Ok, Ok, you've proved you're a vicious character, Garet was it? The lizardmen have a small tribal community in the larger eastern part of Black Maw Bog."
Selene: "So what do you intend to do with us now?"
William: "It's obvious, they're going to take us back as your father has probably offered a substantial reward for your return".
Selene: "My father will kill you......."
